The Daily Dispatch page is where your team manages home delivery operations — scheduling requests, tracking which deliveries are on the road, and pinpointing every drop-off address on an interactive map. Rather than managing deliveries through a flat spreadsheet, Daily Dispatch gives you a split-view layout with a live schedule on the left and a geographic overview on the right, so you can see at a glance how your drivers are distributed across the service area.

The split-view layout

When you open Daily Dispatch, the page divides into two panels:

Schedule list (left)

A scrollable list of every delivery request for the selected date. Each card shows the customer name, phone number, delivery address, current status badge, delivery fee, and quick-action controls.

Map (right)

An interactive map (powered by OpenStreetMap via Leaflet) showing a coloured pin for every delivery that has coordinates set. The map auto-fits its zoom level to show all pins at once.

Selecting a date

Use the date picker in the top-right of the page header to switch between days. Changing the date reloads both the schedule list and the map pins automatically. The page always opens on today’s date by default.

Delivery statuses

Status badges in the schedule list are colour-coded — amber for pending, blue for confirmed, indigo for processing, sky blue for out for delivery, green for completed, and red for cancelled.

Creating a new delivery request

1

Click New Request

Click the New Request button in the top-right of the page header. The delivery editor opens as a full-screen modal with a form on the left and a map panel on the right.
2

Select the customer

Type the customer’s name or email in the Customer / User field. A dropdown of matching accounts appears as you type. Click the correct customer to select them and link the delivery to their account.
3

Enter the delivery address

Type the street address in the Delivery Address field. As you type, Google Places Autocomplete suggests matching addresses. Selecting a suggestion automatically fills in the City, Parish, and the map coordinates.
4

Confirm the city and parish

If the address autocomplete did not fill in the city and parish correctly, type them manually. Select the correct parish from the dropdown — all 14 Jamaican parishes are listed.
5

Set contact and scheduling details

Enter the customer’s Contact Phone number and the Requested Date for delivery. Add any Special Instructions (gate codes, landmarks, access notes) in the text area.
6

Set the delivery fee

Enter the Delivery Fee in the fee field. The fee is shown on the customer’s delivery card and used for billing purposes. You can adjust it at any time after saving.
7

Pin the location on the map

The right panel of the modal shows a Leaflet map. If the address autocomplete set the coordinates correctly, you will see a pin already placed. To adjust the exact drop-off point, click anywhere on the map — the pin moves to that spot and the latitude and longitude values update below the map. Alternatively, click Find Address to re-geocode the address fields.
8

Save the delivery

Click Save Delivery. The new request appears in the schedule list with a Pending status, and a coloured pin appears on the main map.

Viewing a delivery on the map

Click any delivery card in the schedule list to focus the map on that delivery. The map smoothly pans and zooms to the pin’s location and opens a popup showing the customer name, address, current status, and delivery fee. Map pin colours correspond to delivery status:
  • Amber — Pending
  • Sky blue — Out for Delivery
  • Green — Completed
  • Dark slate — All other statuses

Updating a delivery status quickly

You do not need to open the edit form to change a status. Each delivery card in the schedule list has an inline status dropdown in the bottom-right corner. Change the value and it saves immediately without any confirmation step.

Editing a delivery request

Hover over any delivery card and click the pencil icon to open the full edit form. All fields are editable, including the customer, address, fee, and map pin. Click Save Delivery to apply your changes.

Adjusting delivery fees

Open the delivery editor by clicking the pencil icon on the card, update the Delivery Fee field, and click Save Delivery.

Deleting a delivery request

Open the delivery editor (click the pencil icon on the card), then click the red Delete Request link in the bottom-left of the modal footer. A confirmation dialog appears before the deletion proceeds. Deleted requests are permanently removed.
Deleting a delivery request cannot be undone. If a delivery needs to be cancelled rather than removed from the system entirely, change the status to Cancelled instead of deleting the record.
If a customer’s address cannot be found by the autocomplete or the Find Address geocoder, zoom in on the map in the modal and click the exact delivery location manually to drop the pin at the correct coordinates. The latitude and longitude display at the bottom of the map panel confirms the pin position.
